Follow the instructions of the SVb staff. During the medical control, the doctor determines if the employee remains AO or can resume work.
The AZV card is NOT a valid means of identification.
Incapacitated (Arbeidsongeschikt or AO)
An employee who has been declared AO by the control doctor must inform his employer of the date that he must present himself at SVb again for medical control.
To better understand the employee’s condition, the control doctor may ask the employee for information related to their medication. The doctor may also ask the employee for permission to receive information from his/her house doctor or specialist.
As determined by the Sickness Insurance Law, only SVb doctors are authorized to determine whether an employee is AO or AG.
Work-capable (Arbeidsgeschikt or AG)

If the control doctor determines that the employee is AG after the medical check-up, SVb will not give compensation for this day.
Leaving Aruba during AO
The employee, that the control doctor declared AO is not allowed to leave Aruba during the days that he is AO without the approval of SVb. Only those who must go abroad with an AZV declaration can get permission from the SVb to leave Aruba. For any other form of treatment or any other reason, SVb does not give permission.
If the insured decides to leave Aruba without approval, he loses his right to compensation during his period abroad.
Declaration of AO (Control Card or AO-Card)
SVb informs the employer of their employee’s sick leave (AO) when the employee has reported sick via the MiSVb Trahado App. If sick leave is reported by phone, the employer is not immediately notified of the report. For all employees who use the MiSVb Trahado App to report sick leave, the employer receives a sick leave notification via the e-mail address registered in the MiSVb portal. For notifications made by phone, no e-mail is sent.
On the MiSVb 2.0 portal, the employer can view all employees who have reported sick leave via the MiSVb Trahado App or by phone in the “Sick Leave Summary” list, which is available in the MiSVb employer portal.
This information is available one day after the employee has reported sick (AO) to SVb. This also applies to the sick leave period that is recorded while the employee is on sick leave.
