Procedure Notify AO (Private Sector)

Process To Notify AO (Private Sector excluding Medisoft SVb users)

  • When an employee is incapacitated to work due to sickness or accident (arbeidsongeschikt or AO), the employee must notify the employer and SVb.
  • Notify AO Online at: https://ao.svbaruba.org/. Notification of AO can also be done via phone 527-2782.

For private sector companies that use Medisoft SVb, the employee only notifies AO to the employer.

  1. To notify AO use AO Online or call 527-2782. AO notifications will not be accepted any other way!

The hours to notify AO are:

  • Online:
    • Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
    • On Weekends, Holidays and ATV days from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • Phone:
    • Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
    • On Weekends, Holidays and ATV days from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM

If you go back to work before or on the third day after calling in sick (notifying AO), there is no need to make any further contact with the SVb.

  1. If still sick on the third day, you must request an extension of AO at SVb:
    • Using the AO Online service, request an AO extension online to indicate that you are still sick, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Monday through Friday.
    • Call SVb Medical Administration at 527-2730 from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Monday through Friday. It is not possible to call any other phone number for this!
    • It is not possible to request an extension on weekends, holidays and ATV days, request the extension the next SVb working day.

When notifying Online or calling 527-2730, you need to:

    • Provide a valid phone number so SVb can call back the same day.
    • Expect to receive a call back the same day (can be called back up to 5:00 PM).
    • In case SVb calls back, and the call is not answered, the AO day will not be approved.
  1. When SVb calls again, you must follow the instructions given, which can be:
    • SVb provides a date to return to work (AG date). If still sick on the date to return to work, notify SVb the same day at 527-2730 between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
    • Receive an appointment for a medical check-up at SVb.
    • One person is allowed per appointment, except for those needing assistance.
  1. If you have an appointment at SVb, please take note of the following:
    • You must show your passport, driver’s license, or identity card upon entry.
    • Persons with flu, fever, and coughs are not allowed entry.
    • Follow the instructions given to qualify for compensation.
